Dolphin Service Menus by nasutix 2 comments

It would be nice if this service menu script would use the configured email client instead of being hard-coded to kmail.
There is a Kipi plugin which does the exact same thing. Maybe that could serve as an example.

In fact, that would be brilliant: a service menu which offers the kipi plugins on images. - Aug 23 2012

I simply did not implement the updating after deletion. A reload (F5) does take care of that for you.

As for music: I already did a music kio slave: http://trueg.wordpress.com/2012/02/10/just-for-the-fun-of-it-browsing-music-with-nepomuk/

As for the rest: maybe some day. Not sure. This was mostly for fun. maybe someone else wants to do movies and stuff... :) - Mar 21 2012

Nepomuk Virtuoso Converter

Utilities by trueg 10 comments

I did not put this into kdebase for several reasons:
1. I never planned to support Virtuoso V5.
2. I do not want the kde build to depend on a 60mb download
3. The converter is a rather hacky thing provided for early adopters and developers. Most typical users will update via official packages and, thus, will never have seen a V5 db.

One could come up with a small patch for nepomuk server which would call the converter. That is very simple. - Feb 04 2010

Well, maybe you are right. But I though of this more like a bugfix release than a real fork. I do not intend to maintain this one. I just wanted to share my fixes with the world because without KLetterWizard is useless to most.

I hope the original author is not offended by this since I do not try to make his app mine. - Jan 27 2007

Great tool.
But I have a feature request: mass release updates. I want to hide a bunch of releases with two or three mouse clicks. Would it be possible to present a table of all releases in a package and let the user change multiple releases at a time. You could than just update the changed ones or add checkboxes for the items the user wants to have changed. - Jun 02 2005

You misunderstood. Nothing has been changed in the way the speed is detected. Trust me; IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO PROPERLY DETECT THE MAXIMUM WRITING SPEED OF A CD/DVD WRITER. The value is just stored in another way. Just try removing your config (~/.kde/share/config/k3brc) and you will see that the detection did not change. - Feb 25 2004

Utilities by trueg 224 comments

I just thought of something. Since K3b 0.11 K3b stores the speed in KB/s instead of a multiplier. That's why you need to reset the speed. ONLY ONCE. Then it's saved and will be used in the future.
Before you ask why for example Nero knows your writer's max writing speed: Nero is table driven. That means they look up the writer's vendor and description in some internal table where they find the correct values. I cannot do this for K3b since that would be way too much work.
So I need to stick to what the devices tell me. - Feb 24 2004
K3b

Utilities by trueg 224 comments

Where do you think is a bug?
K3b is not able (and never was and never will because it's simply not possible) to perfectly detect your writers maximum writing speed. Just set it manually in the device settings (settings->configure k3b->devices) or use the "auto" speed setting to let k3b choose the maximum writing speed with the used media (that is possible ;) - Feb 24 2004
