I had that "blinking" problem too, updated to KDE 4.8.1 and it hardly appears, which version of KDE are you using?

amd64.deb package will be avaliable as soon as I can.

Great Job! - Mar 08 2012

If you want to create a 32 bit deb package you need to follow these steps:

1. Install these packages:

Quote:
sudo aptitude install build-essential cmake checkinstall

2. Download Photo code in it's lastest version.

3. Extract all files from tarball and then enter that folder.

4. Once inside your new folder press "F4" (it will appear a terminal if you're using Dolphin File Manager). If not you must open a Terminal and type cd /*path to the folder*/

5. Quote:
qmake

6. Quote:
make

7. If everything is correct then:

Quote:
sudo checkinstall

8. Once you run that command you should answer some questions (these questions will appear in Terminal) in case you don't want to write just type Enter, but please write a little description of the package in order to help new users.

Now the .deb package is created, it should appear in the folder you are so don't close your file manager.

Hope this helps! Ask for any question and sorry for my bad english X) - Feb 01 2012
You're welcome kicher, btw I have seen that for some reason after installing photo via deb, the application doesn't appear in Kickoff menu, so in order to open photo you must type "photo" in terminal.

Or you can "Right Click" on K button (Kickoff button) and then "Edit Aplications" make a "New Element" and full the fields, writting "photo" in [order] and "photo" in [Advanced -> Path Of Work]. That worked on my brother's computer. It should work for everyone. Please note that I'm spanish so if your system language is in english or another language the method described above could possibly change a little bit.

You might be interested in adding this little guide for Ubuntu users with KDE or Kubuntu users in order to prevent tons of comments saying that they don't find photo in their system after installation. :D

Greetings!

That happened to me too, I solved with this way:

1 Go to Icon Tasks options

2 In Appearence, mark (or tick I don't know how to say that in english) the "Always use icons as launchers" button (or something like that)

And then apply the changes, this tip worked for me, I hope it works for you too! sorry for my bad english :/ - Jan 07 2012
Make sure you have development packages of Qt and KDE installed, as I said before, it seems you don't have cmake installed (or maybe I should say properly installed) so your system can't find it.

Development packages should fix that, or you could try to reinstall cmake, before doing that make sure cmake is completely removed and then install it again. Look at this:

http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/applications/415543-plasmoid-install-cmake-error.html

Hope it helps and sorry for my bad english TT - Oct 08 2011
It seems you need to install cmake, if you're running Kubuntu or derivatives...

sudo apt-get install cmake - Oct 07 2011
