i eventually figured out what was wrong, i was trying to run the wrong thing, there's extraneous entries, i was trying to run them.

if it worked with the current random track play mode, like using the repopulate button, but modifying it for a good shuffle, or a way to keep joined tracks together. like, priests 'hellion-electric eye', they flow perfectly into each other, but regular random breaks them up. - Aug 03 2008

i get that gradual lockup thing, i kill nspluginviewer and things stabilize, go back to normal speed, it's like there's some kind of leak in it. anyways, just switch consoles, top, >, see what's among the highest resource users in the list, check several times over a day. when you catch a slowdown you can compare and see what's started to hog, and use a killer script to check on it. - May 03 2008

recently somebody posted about putting album art on the screen saver, if instead of just album art, it were the video half of the song, that'd be cool.

so, slackbuilds i believe can be massaged to produce rpm's, if they can be massaged with a commandline option then a person can have an rpm based system or slack based, with only an option change. it's possible then to use build scripts for a build from source at installtime system, with a basic system that can be directly copied from a virtual filesystem if no net connection is available. just saying it could be done that way. - Mar 14 2008
