I use the font "Snap" from the artwiz fonts pack for the titlebar and everything else.

I've never experienced the problems you have stated above so maybe using a different font will fix it. - Oct 09 2008

Thank you for your comments. I don't use gnome and nautilus so I didn't notice the cursor problem.
However it's fixed now, just redownload the theme and all should be fine. Thanks again for informing me about this problem :)

You said that you fixed your firefox problem already but I just want to clear something up.
All you have to do to get the firefox3 display right with dark-themes in generell is to modify the "userContent.css".
Just copy the userContent.css that I included in this release (in the Mira folder) to "/home/YourUser/.mozilla/firefox/215sd414f5.YourProfile/chrome"
an restart firefox. - Sep 24 2008

I've updated the emerald theme and added a little gradient to the border, should be better now. :)

Dunno if I'll make a light version... wouldn't look to bad I guess so maybe. - Sep 24 2008

Thank you!
I'll fix the dropdownmenu bg in the next release (probably today).
You are right about the widgets, they're getting stretched or something. Probably just a mistake in the userContent.css. - Sep 21 2008

Ha, that's funny! I'm working on a theme like this for a while now.
I don't have much time to work on it but it will probably be finished in a few days.

My attempt was a bit different though, I used transparent buttons and control elements which was a bit tricky to do. Still have lots of things to do (progress at aroun 60%).

Here is a preview:

Do you mind adding chats(irc) to the list? I don't know python...

Maybe this helps:

It is possible. You just need to have gnome and the theme installed.

If you use xfce, just install the 'gtk-xfce-engine' to get the theme working.

If you use an other wm/de try this:
First you need to run the 'gnome-settings-daemon' (the daemon must be running to use gnome themes so put it in autostart). Then start the 'gnome-theme-manager' to select a theme, like I described before. - Oct 07 2007

Hi rastiazul,

you can install this theme for your user by extracting the theme.tar.gz to the '~/.themes' folder (/home/rastiazul/.themes for example).
If the folder doesn't exist just create it (don't forget the dot in front).

Now open the gnome-theme-manager (if you use gnome) and click on 'customize'. The theme will now be available in the 'controls' tab.

good luck :) - Oct 05 2007

Hi, good that you got it working!

The right-click-menu is from xfce4 (the wm I use). I'm not sure but I think you can bind the menu to the right mouse button in gnome as well. In xfce the option is under:
Settings > Desktop Settings > Behavior

I don't know how you can change the fg color of the gaim contact-list. I'm not even sure if you can alter it in a gtk-theme at all (the theme itself contains no black foreground colors and other dark themes have the same problem).
If you know how to change it, please let me know!

There's nothing wrong here... select a template and you will see the white letters ;)

Well, that's probably a matter of taste. The scrollbars and highlighting colors are perfectly visible on my TFT-Monitor.
In the next few days I'll upload a version of this theme with brighter scrollbars/highlighting. - Jul 15 2007

You can install gtk-themes manually by extracting the theme-archive to '~/.themes'.

To do that create a folder called '.themes' (with the dot in front) in the home directory of your user. Then open the theme.tar.gz with an Archive Manager (file-roller, squeeze etc.) and extract it to the '.theme' dir. Now open the gnome-theme-manager (if you use gnome) and click on 'customize'. The theme will now be available in the 'controls' tab. - Jul 06 2007

Thx, next to the menu (icon postet above) is just the taskbar. What you think could be a system activity indicator applet is just the default XTerm icon of xfce. ;)

You can customize Mrxvt (the terminal app) via a config file in your home dir (.mrxvtrc). Here's is my config for example: ftp://sen.homelinux.org/config/mrxvtrc - Jun 23 2007

Like I thought this problem occurs with other dark themes as well, it's a firefox issue.
I've included a Readme file in the theme with instructions how to fix this problem. Just redownload the theme, follow the steps descriped in the Readme and the web elements will show up correctly in firefox again! :) - Apr 18 2007

Yeah, I noticed it on youtube (search box). Well, I'm not sure if this can be fixed in the theme.
I guess the searchboxes on some sites are using the interface bg and button color with a black foreground (text). While having a theme with a white bg thats no problem but this theme is designed to have a black bg and white fg. I'll try to fix this when I'm @ home. - Apr 16 2007

Yeah, I changed some colors in v0.7 but v0.8 is a bit more friendly to the eyes. I'll release it soon together with a matching emerald theme.

Sry but the reason I made this theme is that I wanted a really dark one (light black) that looks good on my tft but all themes that I found where too much greyish for my taste.

There are already a few greyish themes around, check out these ones:
