I strongly agree with andersaa.
Usually, when I need to access a file, I have an idea of it name or, at least, the directory where it is stored. So, when I want to access it, I must navigate through the directory structure, pointing and clicking several times until I reach the wanted file, or I must write all the path.
With this improvement in krunner, I can quickly access a file or a directory from krunner just typing part of it name. It's a big gain in productivity. - Feb 27 2009

To install any service menu just copy the *.desktop file to ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/ (for one user) or to /usr/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/ (as root, for all users) Another easy way to install service menus is through the Add Action Service Menu (http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=11435) who adds a service menu (Install Service) to install other service menus. - Nov 25 2005

There is already a service menu for open text files as root (Edit as Root, in http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=11998). But, I apreciate your sugestion and I will integrate that in a new version of "Edit File" to allow to open all files as root. Thanks for the tip. - Nov 22 2005

To open the files in UTF-8 encoding, just edit serviceedit.desktop and in the two lines beggining with "Exec=", replace "kwrite %u" with "kate --encoding utf8 %u", like this: Exec=kate --encoding utf8 %u Exec=kdesu "kate --encoding utf8 %u" I also replace krite with kate as the text editor. - Nov 20 2005
