Ubuntu 12.04 - First, you need to use ubuntu tweak or gnome tweak to set the mouse theme. Then, you need to modify the the default mouse theme for the system. Use the terminal to navigate, or use the terminal to open nautilus (sudo nautilus). Use Gedit to modify the file: usr/shar/icons/default/index.theme by changing it to Inherit=name of theme folder. Log out then back in to the system. - Sep 26 2012
