Hi,

Thanks for your comments and your feed-back.

I have a 800 pixels high screens and I never noticed the croppings my small screen.

The theme is now 1200 high. It should be OK.

Regarding sensors
what do you get with the following command :
sensors | grep Core | sed -e 's/.*[:]//' -e 's/[°].*//' -e 's/.*[+]//' -e 's/[.].*$//'

You should get the temperature for each of you CPU - Jun 05 2010

Hi,

Could you send me the script used on ifconfig to find your IP.

I may use it on the next version

Thanks

Hi,

Actually I see nothing wrong in the lines you sent. But is it all the lines you have ?

I have more lines
Is transparency enabled ?
When disabled, it slows things down
which distro do you use ?

Yes,

I have the same here. I see nothing below the first CPU

You have left an Apos instead of a Apo on line 536 in your main .py file

>> With Jidohki, my IP address does not appear.

>Jidohki checks (in this order) wlan2, wlan1, wlan0, ppp2, ppp1, pp0. I figured this are the most used ones. What are you using?

I am using either eth0 or eth1. (an ISP box)

>> The meter bars are not visible enough (not enough contrast with the background)

>I think you mean the backgrounds of the meter bars, right? Looks ok to me, but I could give them less transparency to make them more visible.

>> The title are not with capital letters any more

>This is by design, as they look just plain ugly in all caps.
Well that a question of taste

>> Add a mouse icon on the right side of the title bar for the clickable areas (top, disks,..)

>Why? I don't see a reason for an additional clickable mouse icon.

I am not sure people read all the text on the karamba page and know that there are clickable areas

>> Add a clickable area to "system information" which would open kinfocenter

>I think I could do this, e.g. by clicking on the distro logo.

>> Add Portuguese language. I'll send you the translation sent by powtrix

>I didn't get anything yet. Also, Jidohki has a few additional strings, so I'll send him a message if he can translate those as well.

AFAIK, we can not post enclosed files on kde-look. I would need your email. You can use translations.py from AutomatiK

>> Add a theme which is 1200 pixels high. Some people with many mounted disks cannot fit all the meters into the theme (800 pixels high)

>I can do that, but height should be 1050 pixels: resolution 1920x1080 minus taskbar height.

Maybe a 800, 1050 and a 1200 pixels will do - Sep 17 2009

Hi

I have just uploaded a new update of AutomatiK in which you will find the portuguese translation

Hi,

I am fabien, the writer of AutomatiK.

Although the colours are 'too flashy' to my taste, you have made some nice improvements over AutomatiK(new language, translations, layout of the disk)

There are one bug left and two improvements :
- With Jidohki, my IP address does not appear.

- The meter bars are not visible enough ( not enough contrast with the background)

- The title are not with capital letters any more

I do not have much spare time to do improvements on AutomatiK, that is why the last update dates back from July.

This could be suggestions; here is a list of things I want to add to AutomatiK :

* Add a mouse icon on the right side of the title bar for the clickable areas (top, disks,..)

* Add a clickable area to "system information" which would open kinfocenter

* Detect the language installed by default on the system and start with the proper language
use command :
karamba.userLanguage(widget)

* Add Portuguese language. I'll send you the translation sent by powtrix

* Add theme with others colours (selectable with a right click ?)

* Add a theme which is 1200 pixels high. Some people with many mounted disks cannot fit all the meters into the theme (800 pixels high)

If you do not want or have the time for the suggestions above, I hope I'll have to time to add them to AutomatiK during my next holidays. - Sep 12 2009

Hi,

Thanks for the comment.

How often does you IP change (once per hour, minute, day) ?

Actually, just refreshing superkaramba should be enough to update the IP.

I am going to look for a way to update the IP automatically (so that it deserves its name :)

HI !
Sorry, I replied a bit late, but I come back from holidays.

Regarding the "garbage text", maybe you should modify the "utf-8" at the beginning of the AutomatiK.py file. Could you check if you have other python file on you disk and check how they look like. I do not have real clues to help you on this.
There is a verdana font reference in AutomatiK.theme and AutomatiK.py

I did not add uptime, distro in the translations because I did not need them at first. I'll add them in the next upload.

I you find a work around for the garbage text, let me know, I'll add your translations.py

Thanks - Aug 20 2009

You can't change the transparency :
Are you on KDE or Gnome ?

Do you have any transparency at all on the widget ?

Do you have a dialog with the right button of the mouse ?

Is libkross installed ?

Do you have anything that shows up when you type in a terminal :
kdialog --radiolist "Please select transparency level :" 0 "100 %" on - Jul 26 2009

Hi

I have created a new user on my PC, started superkaramba, clicked on "install new plasmoids" and "add to Desktop".
And it works.

Is it only AutomatiK that does not work? Have you tried another theme ?

If this does not work, download Automatik somewhere on your hard drive, unpack it with "tar xzvf AutomatiK_English.tgz", start superkaramba, click on the icon on the taskbar, choose open and select Automatik.theme where you have unpacked it

I hope this help, and thanks for your feedback - Jul 25 2009

Does Automatik works fine ? Maybe it is already installed ? As far as I can remember, AutomatiK worked fine on my system with virtual box

If not, a quick search on Google with the following keywords gave me rpm links

like :
ftp://fr2.rpmfind.net/linux/fedora/updates/11/i386/kross-python-4.2.3-2.fc11.i586.rpm

"kross python fedora"

Have you tried kross+python ? - Jun 27 2009
