anyway, i'm glad you like my icons to create a new iconset, enjoy! - Oct 17 2005

there's an effect in inkscape to do those kind of shadows, but involves using bitmaps, not vectors.

thanks :), but i don't think gnome devs will ever change jimmac's work.
about the gnome-multimedia... are you running GNOME 2.12? or at least librsvg 2.12.0?, becouse latest librsvg release seems to have some problems rendering SVGs... - Sep 24 2005

hey, i believe that your PAN icon's filename is all wrong :)
should be PAN, not PAM (PAM is another thing).
the gnome-help isn't very realistic, the same with the users icons, they look toon-ish to me... - Sep 24 2005

the iconset is very nice, but i have a (maybe)stupid question... why use adobe illustrator when you can get pretty much the same result using inkscape?
besides, AI doesn't run (at least not natively) on linux, using a native linux vector drawing application might increase productivity... just a few thoughts that aren't entirely related to the iconset, i hope you don't mind me asking :) - Sep 17 2005

looks nice, i like the grey one better, but i have a suggestion:

why not making it transparent? (not invisible) so you can pick the color in the background preferences window.

if you don't understand what i'm saying (probably becouse english isn't my strong point) you can check a wallpaper i made at - Mar 10 2005

well, i must say that the girl has beautiful eyes, mouth and she even has a penguin in one of her boobs, other than that the screenshot doesn't show anything interesting, just yet another cheap imitation of MacOS look... - Feb 25 2005

hehe... i'm always missing something... there should be an edit option so that way i wouldn't post extra comments...

anyway, you say "we don't use rounded edges either for treeviews, textboxes or frames.", are you sure textboxes aren't rounded?... they look pretty rounded to me ;) - Feb 25 2005
well, the part that doesn't make much sense is that almost everything is rounded, except for menues and maybe something else that i'm missing.
i'm a graphic designer and i've learnt that if you'r making a rounded/smooth theme (or engine in this case) then you should make everything rounded/smooth.
this theme is rounded, not completely smooth, but definitively rounded... if you want to make it smoother then you could remove/change the black outline on some controls (like tabs and scrollbars). - Feb 25 2005
oh, and something else....

rounded buttons with not-rounded menues doesn't make much sense to me... - Feb 25 2005
i like this engine, but menues in 0.3 are a big step backwards... i like 0.2.2 better :P - Feb 25 2005

a) becouse they are familiarized with that GUI to work and they don't want to stop using GNU/Linux becouse of NOT understanding the GUI.

b) becouse they just CAN... It's FREE as in freedom, you know? - Sep 15 2004
