This is an upstream bug, see . I don't intend to release a new version of this plasmoid (I don't know what I can do from my side anyhow). The only workaround I can suggest for now is to disable the Marble functionality. - Aug 25 2010
I'm sorry, due to internet problems at home I can't have a look at this right now. It could take some time, unfortunately. Patches are always welcome, though :) - Aug 09 2010
I'm on a short holiday right now, I'll look into it later this week. - Aug 02 2010
That's right, only 24 photos are retrieved.

At the moment of writing, I have a local Git branch which should take care of it. It's mostly finished, but I think I have to look at it better.

But I would expect to merge this in for the next non-bugfix release. - Sep 26 2009
No, unfortunately it's not possible. I'm aware of the problem, but it would take quite some work to fix this.
But, it's on my list and hope to deal with this one day. - Sep 25 2009
Is Flickr On Plasma the only package which causes problems? I suspect this error happens due to a misconfiguration on your system.

Did you install CMake from a package or by hand? I'd suggest to sort out this issue on your distribution's support channels, because it looks like I can be of any help here. - Sep 15 2009
I'm not so convinced that would be the right solution. I can imagine it is unexpected/unclear behavior for other users.

Perhaps a pager widget instead, similar to the one you see in the comic plasmoid. - Jun 21 2009
Which version? 0.5.1 is supposed to fix this. - Apr 30 2009
I think this is outside the scope of this applet. I'm not intending to implement this feature, unless someone provides a nice patch. - Apr 21 2009
Yeah, I'm aware of this, and 0.4 will fix that. I wanted to release 0.4 last week, but due to some internet connection problems it has to wait a little.

Here is the patch for the CMakeLists.txt file in the project's root:

I'm afraid I can't really fix this, it seems to be related to . So it's either wait a little for a response on that bug or wait for KDE 4.2 which may fix it. - Jan 13 2009
I have seen the QPixmap errors too, but only when resizing the applet when run with plasmoidviewer. Repainting miserably fails after resize. I haven't seen this on the 'normal' desktop shell, though.

But I'll see what I can do. - Jan 13 2009
Appears to look fine. Have you tried running kbuildsycoca after installation? Or restart Plasma? (execute 'kquitapp plasma && plasma'). - Jan 11 2009
Thanks for your report.

I just released 0.3.1 which should take care of this. I can't really test because it compile like a charm on my machine. - Jan 11 2009
This is work in progress. At the moment of writing, my local version supports the interesting photo stream (which the current version is already doing) and a stream of your favorite photos. Streams based on tags were actually my next target. - Dec 26 2008
Yeah, the wallpaper idea was on my mind too. Have to think of some ways preventing that it will cause ugly results due to upscaling. - Dec 23 2008

I had to apply this patch at [1] in order to make it compile with GCC 4.5. I have not tested whether this works for GCC 4.4, though.

I put this applet on the desktop (I know, it's not its intention) and opened it. But then, you're allowed to delete the button, while the text edit remains on screen. There is no way to remove it again and it makes Plasma crash if you do some operations. - Feb 15 2009

Strange, it works fine here, and the same checks work for my other plasmoid somewhere else.

What is your CMake version? Mine is version 2.6-patch 2. - Jan 20 2009
Yes. For my other applet, Flickr On Plasma, I made the following patch againt CMakeLists.txt, which keeps compatibility with <4.2 and >=4.2. This should work the same for this applet.

If you look at the Exec= line you'll it is actually a wrapper around kdesu. The advantage is that this is a service menu, and you can open files as any user from Konqueror. - Apr 04 2007
KDE does not offer servicemenu's, only some applications have them. Since this service menu does not belong to any app, I don't know how to add this to the default modules. - Apr 15 2006

For me it didn't instantly appear, I had to restart Kontact for that. If it does not appear after restart, run kbuildsycoca as your own user and try again.

And check that the following files are located on your filesystem (readable by you):

/usr/share/services/kontact/basket_v4.desktop - Mar 13 2007

Sorry for the double post, don't know what happened.

The attached ebuild is already outdated, because of a bugfix which requires a patch.

Please refer to Gentoo bug 153283 for the latest ebuilds and patches (or Portage itself once it is included). - Mar 01 2007

No, you won't see this in KDE 3.5, since it's in feature freeze.

And I'm also not impressed with amaroK and digikam in Kontact. They just don't belong there. Or shall we include KMPlayer as well? And a Katepart? And...

And as a ending note, I'd like to quote Mathias Ettrich:

I agree. I'd rather see them 'more hidden'. Or you could show them only when the current folder is a SVN folder. But I'm not sure if that's currently possible with Konqueror. - Jan 31 2006

Hi Ariel,

It's not that hard. Make sure the resource pane is visible in KOrganizer (or Kontact's calendar component). If this is not visible, you should enable it in one of the submenus of the Settings menu.

Once the resource pane is visible, click Add. Select the one which stores a calendar in a local file. Make sure you don't check the Read Only flag. Give the calendar a place somewhere on your harddisk.

To make entering holidays more comfortable, disable all other resources first by unchecking them in the resource pane. Now you can add the items to your new calendar. These are saved automatically to the assigned file.

You eventually want to make the calendar read only again so you won't be bothered with questions when you want to add an event to your normal calendar. - Dec 27 2005

Ah, that's nifty. Currently I'm doing exactly the same with tar && fcron. I'm going to check this out sometime.

But why do you require unsermake. For me it's not a big deal, but I don't know how many users have unsermake. What's wrong with autoto.. eh.. never mind :) - Dec 27 2005
