To add a proper progress bar:

Add these lines to the bottom of the .cfg file (this one is lined up for the 1024x768 resolution, but you can adjust from this for the other resolutions):

box silent inter 24 421 24 425 #0xCCCCCC 0xCCCCCC #383849 #2e2e3d
box silent 24 421 421 425 #0xCCCCCC 0xCCCCCC #383849 #2e2e3d

By the way, this is the nicest fbsplash I've seen for gentoo. I made a gdm theme and wallpaper from it. - Jul 13 2007

Here is what I get when I try to play the OGG files contained in your archive:

"The filename "Battery_Charging.ogg" indicates that this file is of type "Ogg multimedia". The contents of the file indicate that the file is of type "MP3 audio. etc., etc."

However, I can play your "ogg" files with mpg123 (they sound nice, by the way).

I think maybe you converted the wav files to mp3 instead of ogg by accident.

If you would be so kind, could you replace these with a set of ogg files?

Thank you. :) - Jul 08 2007

What's the first braille letter supposed to be? A g is 4 dots in the upper 4 positions, isn't it?

I'd like to use this wallpaper, but I wouldn't want to seem insensitive by having a mis-spelled braille word on my screen-saver. I mean, it's potentially interpreted as a big joke -- how's a blind person to know, right? - Feb 07 2007

Very nice, but why not switch the hands around? Some people might think you are showing a white person helping a dark-skinned person up.

Religion is evil. The "opiate of the masses" designed to keep them from wanting to change a status quo in which they are subjugated. Superstitious mumbo-jumbo addressing our fear of the unknown and our own mortaility. And we haven't improved in our thinking since the Ahkenaten tried to mandate monotheism in Egypt around 1,340 B.C.. Just look on your TV at the chanting, mumbling, swaying masses of people crowded into temples, churches, mosques, tabernacles and what-have-you. Bunch of book-kissing, wailing, self-flagellating, incense-burning, knee-walking, witch-doctor, voodoo morons. What a waste of precious time and energy -- especially when they get to starting wars and killing people over these ridiculous childish beliefs!

Alternative interpretations:

a) The penquin is spanking the gentoo logo while doing it doggie-style.

b) The penguiin (Tux's mongloid, Special Olypics cousin) thinks the gentoo logo is a "horsie" and he's riding an imaginary rodeo. - Oct 11 2006
iPod: Feel my wrath

Wallpaper Other by liquidrock222 1 comment

"Feel my Wrath?". Somehow "wrath" doesn't come to mind as one of the many emotions my iPod elicits.

It rocks. I makes me feel. It colors my world with music. It's a package of power. It jams. But wrath?

It even gives me a smug sense of justice that Apple's culture of design worship has been finally rewarded with market success (the kind I felt the Newton deserved).

I'll probably get flamed for saying it, but I'd probably use this wallpaper if it said, "ipod: feel my balls". - May 11 2006

I like it. There are plenty of other themes in here that should satisfy your Pokemon-collecting, Power-Rangers-watching, boy-band-listening sense of aesthetics. Just because an icon set doesn't look like a twelve-year old just opened his Christmas presents doesn't mean it's no good. - Mar 06 2006

It's a personal wallpaper, not a candidate for the CD cover or something. Get off your politically-correct high horses.

This is actually some nice artwork. It engenders a mood. The fact that you responded emotionally to it is the best indicator of that. Would I want it as MY desktop - no, but that doesn't mean I need to put it down. It's good art.

Now, if there was a way to isolate those items that might be to "adult" for some users, so they are only exposed to them voluntarily, that might be good. - Mar 06 2006

I don't think accessiblity of the window title bar functionality is diminished by blending it in. It is easy to see which portion of the window one can "grab" based on the height of the window title itself. While the presence of color or a divider does serve to suggest the functionality of a "handle", dragging windows around is so embedded in most of us that this is a small sacrifice. - Feb 03 2006
