Amarok 2.x Scripts by mvanzin 30 comments

This is a nit-pick because I like my "play count" to be updated properly.

I am running Kubuntu 12.04 and Amarok 2.5.0. When I use this script, it is now adding tracks with a "Collection" value of "None" on the "Summary" tab. This means the play could isn't being updated correctly for the tracks which are technically in my "Local Collection".

I hope this is simple to fix. This script is awesome! - Jun 15 2012

Idea: Save Amarok 1.4

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by stalin2000 28 comments

The general response to issues I have filed for Amarok 2 basically amounts saying that it is still a work in progress. That is particularly evident with responses like "trunk in SVN is fine". That's nice, but today it's fine, tomorrow it might not be. Having people pull from SVN in order to finally find a stable, feature-functional version of the software is a bad approach.

Amarok 1.4.x was *stable*.
It worked great.
It had all the features I wanted.

I will take the step forwards to the next version when it isn't a step backwards feature wise. I still use Amarok 1.4.10 for that reason, and don't mind tolerating the Qt 1.3 stuff so I can keep the software that "works properly" (IMO).

As to the questions about "what is missing" -- do a feature comparison between the two. That will answer the question.

Amarok 2 has had some GREAT steps forward. But it is not yet sufficiently mature enough to replace 1.4.x. - Jul 26 2009

In contrast to so many of the other wallpapers posted, this feels like a breath of fresh air. The perspective is great, especially the choice to focus just slightly further down the pencil shaft instead of at the tip. This image says to me "be creative!" and it is a really good shot. The Splash doesn't seem to work nicely with my resolution (1600x1200). Any hints on getting this to fit the screen? It seems to take up about 60% of the screen (as though it were perhaps 1280x800 or so). - Dec 05 2008

Pau Total Amarok

Karamba & Superkaramba by pauelmaco 3 comments

1. single click on controls
2. click on cover art to pop up amarok

These are the two major reasons I keep going back to "gsm". Perhaps a bit nit picky, but it keeps it as my favorite Amarok Superkaramba theme.

The coverart on this seemed to overflow the theme a little. I didn't dig into the theme definition, and I suspect that could be configurable.

Looks very nice! - Sep 10 2008

White text like that doesn't play nicely with GMail. There are a lot of neat looking themes I've passed by due to white text.

The problem is where to specify these same arguments to krsync so it will work at least as well as the command-line does. At this point using krsync is more complicated than using the command-line. - Jan 02 2008

System Software by Multimedia4Linux 31 comments

I have also read the man page.

I can get this command to work on the command line:

rsync -avz -e ssh ./Source user@machine:/home/Target

but I have not found how to get Krsync to do this. "Read the man page" is clearly not providing the illuminating answer that will help us here.

Can you be so kind as to provide a bit more guidance as to how we can get that command line command to work similarly in Krsync? - Dec 25 2007

I second the dev question. This is a nice program, and I hope that the development hasn't stopped on it. I have a couple of issues that I'd like to see a solution to:

What was the update?

Also, two features that would push GSM from being my favorite Amarok theme:
