Sorry, I don't think the complexity of lwp will allow this. There are literally thousands of lines of code in lwp, and I don't think it is suited to being a plugin.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

I see where the issue is - although I'm not convinced it's a bug yet - I'll need to check the code.

At the moment, you need to enter the number and then press for su-per-doku to recognise that you've entered a number, otherwise it doesn't know whether the number should be a note or an actual answer. If you press enter after putting a number in, the "show missing/incorrect" should work.

If a number is green, it is only preliminary. Press enter to enter it into the puzzle as an answer. - May 12 2006
Su-per-Doku

Karamba & Superkaramba by Matti 24 comments

How do you know it's correct? I had one guy email me complaining that the puzzle never told him it was solved when he thought he'd completed it correctly. He had not read the rules of sudoku fully, and had many of the numbers wrong. Can you host your screenshot on http://imageshack.us. Then I can have a look at it to see what's going on. - May 09 2006

Just responding to your self-proclaimed "rant". I know from personal experience that these kinds of "comments" are very de-motivating from a developer's perspective. (a) It's alpha. Which means that it's in development, and should never be used in production. It's released for testing purposes.

(b) It's free software, and released as is where is. If you're not paying for it, be greatful someone has taken the time out of their busy life to produce it. Perhaps support them by providing polite and helpful bug reports, or even assist with the coding by providing patches. - Mar 13 2006

I don't understand. How do you get the message that there is no data, and the program has exited, and yet you can use the program to configure the theme? Despite this small anomoly, can you please run superkaramba from a terminal, and post the output. You are better of posting to the liquid weather forums than here. Try:

It's not that hard:

wget http://liquidweather.net/lwp-10.0.skz

Look, see above for the reasons why I don't provide a direct link. To be honest I don't care if you use liquid weather or not. There are 300,000 people that seem to have a different view from yours.

But I'm really sorry to have stuffed you around. I'd hate for you to be inconvenienced in the slightest. What I should really do is provide you with a direct link, and then have to answer the 100 or so support emails a day that I used to have to answer before I stopped with a direct link. Then you wouldn't be "stuffed around" anymore. You also wouldn't have any further development of this software, as at that point I'd get so fucked off with this that I'd throw in the towel. Furthermore, the website generates the revenue that provides the bandwidth that allows you to download the theme.

Use wget if you've got a major problem with clicking your mouse twice. - Feb 24 2006

I don't provide a direct link, because, when I did, people never read the manual that I provide on my website, and I received a hell of a lot of email support requests for things that were dealt with on my site. The amount of support emails I now get is miniscule compared to when I provided a direct download.

Furthermore, the forum provides a place to provide and get help, which is easily searchable by the rest of the world, unlike the comments section on this site, or my mail server.

If that annoys you, that's a price I'm willing to pay, in order to give myself more time to develop liquid weather, and spend time with my family. - Feb 10 2006

No, to test this, it tries to import the qt module. If it can't import it, then it spits an error.

Go to a terminal, and type "python". You should then get a >>> prompt. At that prompt, type:

import qt

You can still configure the theme through (the much more sophisticated) configuration gui dialog, which is based on PyQt. There is no step backwards. No longer having to maintain two configuration systems, means that the theme will be far easier to develop. The gui configuration which is now available is far superior to the method that has been dropped. This allows the theme to leap forward, and is a design decision with that in mind. - Jan 21 2006

That's kind of intentional. Before I made people go to the website, I was answering about 20 emails a day, of people asking the same questions over and over again. Now they have to go to the website, I'm getting about 2 email questions a week. I kind of like it better this way. Unless there's a way that can be built into the knewstuff dialog that tells people where to go for help, or something. - Dec 08 2005
