You need to have the correct weather.com code. You have obviously entered your city name in the configuration option. Delete ~/.superkaramba/liquid_weather.rc, and start again. Then right click on the them, go to the Configuration menu, choose "Find location on weather.com". Enter your city in the dialog box, and it should work from there.

I've had this occasionally. If you right click on the space it should be in, then press either update, or reload, it should show up. I'm not sure what the issue is here, because there are no errors.

The latest version downloads in a separate thread (except for the first time), so I'm not sure why it's freezing for you.

Also, what crash of superkaramba are you talking about? You need to give a lot more detail if you want something fixed. Also reading through the comments might yield you an answer, which would avoid me having to play 20 questions with you. You have "find" function on your browser don't you?

To answer your question, yes, fast image scaling is set, and it definitely "looks" smoother.

When you say tips, are you talking about the adjustments for fps. I have this set to 1, would a higher number be better for a slower cpu?

Here are my thoughts on 1.0.4.

CPU usage:

On idle, I'm getting around 5-10% on my pentium III 600Mhz, 256MB Ram laptop. On mouse over, I'm getting between 40 and 60%. So getting better, but not at the same efficiency as 0.9pre4. I'm using 32 to 64 pixel zooming on the icons. When I changed the size of the widget in the config file by reducing the space above the icons to 100, it got a bit faster.

Movement:

I like the osx movement, and it feels really smooth and responsive. Feels much smoother than 0.9pre4

Icons returning after mouse out:

If I take the mouse out of the widget, and direct to another window, then the icons start to return, but they don't quite return to their original position. There is uneven space left between them. If I put the mouse back in to the widget, they snap back to the original position. Then if I mouse out to the desktop, everything returns to resting position, but then the last two icons closest to the end where the mouse exits rise and fall slowly, and the icons end up not quite at resting position, with the end icon sitting up a bit.

No bounce on opening a new window:

Can we get the bouncing back on opening a new window?

I really like some of the new feaures:

Configurable context menus for each icon, providing the X icons for apps that don't have a kde icons.

Keep up the good work. This theme is gonna be gooood.

Hope this feedback helps.

I'll have to do it when I get home. But from memory, 0.9pre4 gives about 60-70% on mouse over, and 0-3% on idle.

The latest releases are giving 90-100% on mouse over, and 20-40% on idle.

There's no other debug info that I can give at this stage - although fast image scaling is enabled.

On my desktop (Duron 1.2Ghz with 256MB Ram), idle is much lower (0-7%), and mouse over seemed like it was about the same as 0.9pre4. However, it "feels" slower.

I note that the icon set I'm using doesn't have a 120x120 set, although the theme scales them to that size. Could this slow things down? I'd like to set the sizes to 32 and 64 for scaling, but the option doesn't appear to be there.

Sorry, I haven't tested 1.0.4, so I'll look at it again tonight and report results.

I've now tried it on my laptop, and it's kindof a cpu hog. Running at about 90% when mouse over, and about 45% when mouse is elsewhere.

1.0.3 is working much better. However, it seems to use more cpu than the 0.9pre4 (my current benchmark for this theme).

The ability to add commands to the middle click menu rocks.

I'd like the ability to configure the small/large zoom size of the icons.

We're making good progress here though.

Keep up the good work!

Ok. Tried this out. Get much further than previously. No errors regarding KDEDIR (provided that I set the global variable).

It doesn't pick up any of the icons from the theme that I'm running. I get mostly "jaguar" flavoured x's.

Also, the zoom movement looks kindof chaotic. Not smooth and organised like the pre4 version.

Also, there's nowhere to configure anything. I presume because this is alpha that this will come. However, the code to pick up the current icon theme isn't working at the mo.

Keep going. This is such a great theme, I'd love for it to become better than the 0.9pre4 version (the best so far).

The local weather warning will be the issue. Thought I'd fixed that after Isabel, but obviously not for other warnings. Try 6031 on the BBC site (just enter it in under the change your location dialog). Once that warning goes away, go back to weather.com.

I may be able to fix it, but it might take a few days.

It is downloading a lot more information than it used to (satellite maps etc), so it will spend longer getting the stuff. The program is non-responsive while this is happening. You will just have to ride it out. Also, I have noticed that weather.com is running slower than usual at the moment - may be due to interest in Isabel.

I presume that other than non-responsiveness while downloading data, it otherwise works oK?

This is a wonderful theme, however, since 0.9pre4, I've been having problems with your releases.

The latest release doesn't seem to add anything useful in terms of the ical functionality. The korganiser button opens konqueror onto your website. There is no explanation in the README. Am I missing something. Obviously all the icons for ical are included, but the functionality doesn't appear to be there.
