I guess it is not easy to do it in lightdm, right?

I also think it is not. I only used lightdm by a couple of days until install again Kdm, because it is the default DM of kubuntu 14.04. The dificult becomes with the dealing of spreaded files.

I am using the same lightdm wallpaper as splash screen and it looks nice :)
