Description:

A KDE program for users of AVMs Fritz!Box to get call signaling and other functions.

Call notification

KFritz connects to the Fritz!Box to inform you about incoming calls. Detailed configuration is possible either in the KFritz user interface or KDE's system settings.

To enable this feature you have to dial "#96*5*" with a telephone connected to the Fritz!Box. This works for all firmware versions >= xx.03.99

You may experience problems when trying to dial "#96*5*" with an ISDN telephone. In such a case try to activate "auto keypad", "dial * and #" or some similar setting in your ISDN telephone. If your ISDN telephone contains no keypad support simply use an analogue telephone instead.

If you do not want to be notified by every call, you can specify a list of MSNs you are interested on in the plugin's setup. Max. 22 monitored MSNs are supported.

Phone book support

KFritz supports multiple phonebooks. You can configure which phonebooks are used. The order matters with respect to number lookup. When a call comes in, the plugin tries to resolve the number using the first configured phonebook. If that fails, it tries the second one, and so on.

Fritz!Box phone book

This accesses the Fritz!Box phonebook stored on the box itself.

das-oertliche.de/nummerzoeker.com phone books

This tries to resolve any number via online directories.

Local Phonebook

This is a local CSV file. It must be called "localphonebook.csv" and has to be placed in $KDEHOME/share/apps/kfritz/. Each line contains one entry in the following format: "«name»,«type»,«number»". «type» has to be replaced with a type code (1=home, 2=mobile, 3=work).

Fritz!Box call list

Shows the call history. Missed calls are indicated in KDE's system bar.

I managed to get kFritz work on Fedora 16. Maybe I can make a package for Fedora later, but first I have to take a look at how I would have to do that...

A nice (but not necessary) feature would be the possibility to import the phone-book of kontact.

OpenSuse-11.4 kfritz-0.0.8-1.1 packet requires libccgnu2, contained in packet commoncpp2.

commoncpp2 is included in openSUSE-11.4-OSS ?!

Report

Yes, it's contained. But when installing kfritz using standard packet manager it is not found as a required packet. I had to install commoncpp2 manually.

which standard package manager are you using?

# zypper install kfritz
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
Resolving package dependencies...

The following NEW packages are going to be installed:
commoncpp2 kfritz

Perhaps you don't have the standard openSUSE_11.4 repository enabled?

In the German (language) openSUSE 11.3 Version 0.0.7 under KDE 4.6.00, I've a Date sorting problem. The Date is shown as i.e. "31.12.10 23:59" as newest Date. Normaly I expect the last call (i.e. "07.03.11 23:31") as newest in the Call List.

You are right.

This is already fixed in KFritz GIT-Repository at
commits.kde.org/kfritz/80d17af9e0d93cf1a741e07d463bcb77c8c9e637

The next kfritz release will include the bugfix.

Joachim.

thanks for this greate tool!

my personal most wanted feature is support for multiple fritzbox-phonebooks ;-)

i have a question about the direct call from kfritz (and the fritzbox interface).

I have a FritzFon MT-D and when i start a direct call, the called phone rings at first and after the telephonee lifts the reciever, my FritzFon is ringing. In the meantime, the telephonee is hearing "the line is kept" until i accept the call.

Is this the normal behavior? I have a FritzBox Fon 7270.

Many thanks in advance for every hint.

Regarding phone book support: Feel free to open a feature request at bugs.kde.org ;-)

Regarding direct call: I'm sorry to say yes, this is "normal".

Just try to make a call via the webinterface at fritz.box (in german: "Wählhilfe"). You should expect the same behaviour there. So I have no idea, what to do against this.

Please replace line 63 in url.h with the following three:

#ifdef CCXX_IPV6
using ost::IPV6Host;
#endif

Then it should compile!

Or use the (new and shiny) ebuild
for v0.0.7 which includes this patch.
Thanks for that Joachim ;)

Okay, i've tested the cueently available (gentoo)ebuilds.
KFritz has dependencies to libindicate.
And this this to gtk-sharp and mono.

This both are not welcome on my system ... sorry ;)

Libindicate is optional. CMake build process detects if libindicate is installed. If not, kfritz should still compile.
