Description:

This little extension for konqueror prevents that links open themself in new tabs or windows
by replacing the target=blank attribute through target=self. Under Settings->Configure Extensions
you can specify patterns for URLs for which the plugin should take affect. By default it affects all links.

whoa!! surprising!! i did not know extensions did exist for Konqueror!! Google search lead me to only some extensios here and there. I wanted to shift completely from Firefox to Konq. Can someone post a link where i can find some good extensions?

most are in "kde-extras" packages (or a name like that). There aren't that many you can download anywhere, because they must be C++ (and thus need to be compiled for your distribution).

Expect to see this change sometime in the KDE 4 series ;-)

I'd prefer an addition to the right click menu for links: open link in same window/tab. So I could choose from link to link how I want to open it, in a new window, in a new tab or in the same window/tab (no matter how the link is encoded). That really is a missing feature in konq (though I prefer to open all links in tabs in the background).
