MS is also copying the good things from other OS's why wouldn't we do the same.
Some are rejecting to much because its MS, thats also why somethings will never be user friendly in linux.

I for one like this. Why? because it shows how you can make Linux look like anything you want it to look like. Also this is good for people who have to use Windows because their company or school wont let you use another OS so you can trick them into thinking its Windows. Then its good for people who are use to the Windows style but want Linux because well Linux owns all.

Try something new, for example, the majority of people don't need to know who is logged in, so lose that... Most of us don't share computers and those that do, you can usually discern who is logged in via the background and color scheme.

There are better ways of doing things. Ones more original.
Don't take this wrong into thinking that _nothing_ can be like the others. Such as "windows has title bars with an 'x' button to close the window.. so we can't either."
No that is not what I'm talking about. It's about taking what is good, and improving on it where possible. but by all means don't copy...
I do see the search bar at the bottom. nice attempt to be different. but how much is that going to be used? there are so many better places to put it.

and anyway, those suck - still a stupid menu. and menu's suck, lets get rid of them!
just launch a mini-application. why not use more space? why not let a click on the menu button bring us back to the desktop (like expose on mac can move all apps to the sides) and let the desktop then be filled with all important stuff like apps, (recent) documents, searches, mails etcetera.
