SteampunK KSplash Theme
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
This item is a part of Steam-Powered Linux KDE theme set.
The idea is to apply steampunk style to every themeable part of KDE-based distro. Any constructive feedback is highly appreciated. I will try to implement your propositions/fix bugs once I have spare time.

New video will be recorded as soon as the majority of work is done.
KSplash theme notes:
You may encounter weird grey dots during first time you run this theme. It happens when KSplash engine resizes PNG images with transparent pixels on the fly. After resized files are cached, these dots will disappear.

nice Splash Screen. But it looks a little bit strange on a Dual-Screen Configuration. The Animations are on the right, the static Picture on the left screen. Is it a Problem with my NVDIA Card or is it a common problem on Dual Screens?
Best regards
Axel

anyway, i managed to modify it and now i have a static version with no special effects and the usual kde icon animation (but golden colour, to match the theme).
not as cool al yours though:) hope some future version of your theme will work for me too.
i also made a wallpaper, which i think will look great with the steampunk color scheme, here:

p.s. this is not entirely my creation, i modified it from this image http://wallpaperswide.com/the_golden_compass-wallpapers.html

What is not working exactly? I hope I can help you with getting it to work. Are there any error messages when you run "ksplashx SteampunK --test"?

i could only see the buttons on login and couldn't even enter username and password.
also, the splash screen didn't work at all, not even as a test. when i tried to run it from terminal, it said that it failed to load the background, because it was not a png file. so i converted the background files into pngs and changed the links and now it works. thank you, such a simple solution!:)

BTW, nice wallpaper :) Currently, I'm rendering wallpapers that should fit my steampunk theme. One will look like current background image, but with "motion-blurred" gears that represent fully loaded state and the other is simple wooden texture with golden ornaments. I'm also planning to add some kind of logo in center, but not too happy with the result for now :)

If i can make a suggestion, some animated and illuminated objects of the screen can start moving and sparkling as the system is completing the loading, specially the pressure (or what it is) gauge in the right, this last can show the completion of the startup.
Best regards !
